Angela Katherina MERLINO Obituary (2025)

On April 10th, 2025 we lost Angela "Monkey" Katherina Merlino beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt, and friend to many. Born on October 27th, 1962 in Savannah, Georgia to parents Alfred William Merlino and Doris Katherina Harden, she grew up with 2 sisters (Andrea Merlino and Cindy Merlino) and a brother(Mark Merlino). She was a wonderful and strong woman and loved her siblings and parents very much. Angela birthed a daughter (Hazel Nguyen) and son (Warren Griffin). As a hard working woman, she had what it took to love and raise her children. She will be remembered as a brave, loving, joyous, social, generous, hardworking, bold, and inspiring woman. She had a deep love for Tank, the Rottweiler whom she was grandmother to for 13 wonderful years. Her greatest blessings are her 4 grandchildren (Jasiah, Delilah, Gia, Peyton). Angela loved God and worshipped him. Angie most recently had a cat Lola she loved which her son will take in. She retired when she turned 62 from years and years of hard work as a dietary aide (among many other positions). Angie was known to love New York Yankees and New England patriots. She will be greatly missed by many, and there are not enough words to describe her beautiful life. May God hold her in peace and love. We know Heaven is her true home. Angela was preceded in death by her father Alfred William Merlino, grandma Barbara "Oma" Susanna, Aunt Katie Winifred Dull, and Tank. She is survived by sisters Andrea Merlino and Cindy Merlino, brother Mark Merlino, mother Doris Katherina Harden, son Warren H. Griffin, daughter Hazel "Ashley" Nguyen, and grandchildren Jasiah Nguyen, Delilah Spring Griffin, Gia Nova Nguyen, and Peyton Autumn Griffin.
