Barbara Talcott

Barbara Talcott, age 67, passed away on November 28, 2022, at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Barbara was born February 11, 1955, in Yakima, Washington, to Lois and Kenneth Bates Jr. She was married to Robert Talcott Jr., on August 2, 1980. Barbara was raised on her family's farm in the Ahtanum Valley. She attended Ahtanum Valley School and graduated from West Valley High School. Following high school, she attended Central Washington University, obtaining an A.A. in Business.

Barbara worked in various jobs, including a bank, physical therapist, and for an optometrist. Following her marriage to Robert Talcott Jr., she worked in the family business, Talcott Music.

Following the birth of her two children, Nicole and Michael, she became very involved in Talcott's Music Preschool Program. She was also involved with Junior League of Yakima. She and Rob were very
involved in teaching Sunday school classes at First Presbyterian Church. After the sale of their business, Barbara worked as a paraeducator in the Yakima School District in a variety of schools. She had a special gift working with and helping children.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Nicole Brice, son, Michael Talcott, grandsons, James, and Elijah Brice. She is also survived by her mother, Lois Bates, sister, Karen Mosier, and her brother, Kenneth Bates III. Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Bates Jr., and her loving husband, Robert Talcott Jr.

A Graveside Service will be held on December l6, 2022, at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, at 11:00am, followed by a Memorial Service, at 1:00pm, at Wiley Union Church (2711 Wiley Rd., Yakima, WA 98903).
