Bruce Deaver

–

Yakima, Washington

Bruce Roy Deaver, Sr., 60, of Yakima, passed away June 20, 2010, at his home in Yakima. Bruce was born in Yakima on May 6, 1950, to Ralph and Betty (Buchite) Deaver. He graduated from A. C. Davis Senior High School, and married Loretta Wood on November 22, 1980. He was an iron worker for 21 years, working with his brother, George, and his father. Bruce was a dedicated and loving family man, a wonderful father and grandfather; his children and friends were the center of his world. He had many unique, favorite sayings and often surprised those around him with those comments. He was self-educated and a history buff and was knowledgeable in many areas such as building. He was generous; the first to step-in and help his neighbors, and those who rented homes from him. Bruce was a Mans Man who loved guns and cars, especially his 1957 Ford Fairlane and his restored 1931 Model A. Surviving family includes Bruces wife, Loretta Deaver of Yakima; his sons Bruce Deaver, Jr., of Moses Lake, WA, and Dennis Garbe and Brandon Matthew, of Yakima, his daughter Tammy Lea Deaver, of Yakima, his brothers George Deaver and Don Lord, and his sister Sharon Schauer, all of Yakima. Three grandchildren, Kody Deaver, Cole Deaver and Haiden Vance, also survive him. Preceding Bruce in death were his mother and father Betty and Ralph Deaver, and his sister Judy Lord. Visitation will be offered Thursday, June 24, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors, 201 N. 2nd Street, Yakima. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25th, also at the funeral home, with concluding services at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Those wishing to make memorial donations are encouraged to do so to Childrens Wishes & Dreams of Yakima, either directly, or in care of Shaw & Sons
