Byrdella Jean Geditz Obituary (1943

Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors Byrdella Jean Geditz, 74, of Selah, WA died June 21, 2017 in Yakima, WA. She was born on June 15, 1943 in Cresbard, SD to Lloyd and Gertrude Larson. Byrdella graduated from Ipswich High School in South Dakota at the age of 16. Byrdella our Angel on Earth left so suddenly and will forever be missed but will always live in our hearts and memories. She was full of life and ambition as she went to work the very next day after graduation for the State of South Dakota and was employed there until her marriage to Jim on December 3, 1965 in Box Elder, SD. Byrdella had the opportunity to live in many cities between South Dakota to Selah, WA including Aberdeen, White River, Wall, Kadoka to name a few, following the journey with her loving husband Jim on road construction. While living in Rapid City, Jim became interested in race horses and worked for several different ranches. Eventually they moved their small family to Selah, WA to plant their roots. After years of hard work they were able to buy their dream property and named it the Too Little Ranch and have lived there for the past 40 years. Byrdella enjoyed numbers which was reflected in her career with Banner Bank and most recently she worked part time after retirement at GS Long. Byrdella enjoyed reading books, working, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends. Brydella always put others needs before her own. She has touched so many lives, she may have been petite but she had a mighty impact on those paths she's crossed. Byrdella is survived by her husband, James William Geditz; daughters, Lisa Briscoe and Bobbie Hiebert; sons-in-law, Randy Briscoe and Kevin Hiebert; siblings, Mona Stern, Shirly LaForte and Harvey Larson; as well as her grandchildren, Erika Briscoe and Jared Briscoe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Gertrude Larson; and siblings, Eunice Bosanko and Darwin Larson. Viewing will be offered Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors, 201 N. 2nd Street, Yakima, WA. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes in Selah, WA at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017 and concluding at Calvary Cemetery, Yakima, WA.
