Cathy L Nichols

–

Yakima, Washington

Cathy Lynn Nichols, 55, of Yakima, died July 7, 2014, in Yakima. She was born December 31, 1958, in Renton, WA, moving to Yakima just prior to her teenage years.
She attended and graduated from Davis High School, and attended Yakima Valley Community College for one year.
Cathy held various jobs including being a Waitress, Sales Clerk, and working for George Joseph Warehouse in Yakima, where she met her future husband Mark.
She moved to Maryland in 1988 where she married her husband Mark. While living in Maryland she became a receptionist for NASA in Washington D.C., until an accident caused severe nerve damage in both ears, preventing her from working again.
Having to change her life style, she took the opportunity to fill her life with the knowledge of the Bible, doing crafts of all kinds, and learning to sew. Many of us were fortunate to receive some of her handiwork.
Upon meeting Cathy you became an instant friend; describing her as bubbly, sweet, precious, Godly, or a joy to be around.
She stated the rewards in her life were her husband, Mark, the only love of her life and her best friend, having a life long friendship with her Aunt Joanne (only 22 days apart in birth), a great-nephew Bryce to whom she taught the Bible, and that he was so interested on learning and having so many fun times together.
Cathy adored her sisters and brothers, aunts, uncles and their families.
Cathy will never be forgotten, her pure love and humor is steadfast in our hearts. To know Cathy you truly felt blessed. She will forever be blessed.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Mark Nichols, of Yakima; mother: Patricia A. Lafferty of Moxee; father: George L. Panger of Cashmere; four sisters: Norma K. Catron of Hungryhorse, Mt, Tonya M. Mason of North Bend, Or, Marcy Watkins of Wapato, and Jaileen Panger of the San Juan Islands; two brothers; George Panger of Seattle and Trevor Panger of Ballard; and thirty-eight nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 16 at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park, Yakima. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.shawandsons.com.
