Chezare Star MORAN Obituary (2025)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Chezare (Chez) Star Moran. This was a tragic loss for our family and she will forever be missed. Chez was born in Yakima, Washington on August 12, 1982 to Ricky D. Moran and Jonette Figueroa. Chez fought a long hard battle against diabetes along with kidney and heart disease. She unexpectedly passed away on May 23, 2025 at Swedish Heart Center in Seattle, Washington. Chez grew up and went to school in the Yakima Valley; attending Garfield Elementary, Toppenish Middle School and OIC. She made many lifelong friendships along the way. Chez was always ready to socialize. Just grillin'-chillen' and kicking it with family and friends. She was a great cook that was pretty much self-taught by watching her grandma Naomi or mom cooking in the kitchen or Beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network. Chez absolutely LOVED her dog Karma. Karma was the light of Chez' life. She was there for Chez during some of the most difficult times and obstacles that Chez faced in life. Karma was also there for the good times and loved going for rides in the car and listening to tunes. She was Chez' best friend and protector. Karma was Chez' ride or die. Chez was a loving daughter, sister, niece, and aunty. She is survived by her parents, Ricky and Joni Moran, sister Harli Moran, and brother-in-law Alberto Valencia, nephews Ricky Jr. Moran (girlfriend Ichnic Gonzalez), Alberto Manuel Lee "Manny" Valencia and Israel Eugene "Gordo" Salamanca, great niece Mariana Itzel Moran, Aunt Annette Figueroa and Uncle Mondo Figueroa (Sherry) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. Chez was preceded in death by her Grandpa Manuel Figueroa, Grandpa Naomi Figueroa and Brother Ricky Lee Moran and most importantly her fur baby, Karma. Also, Roann Nelson, Annette Moran, and Lori Alba. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Shaw & Sons Funeral Home (201N 2nd St, Yakima, WA 98901). Burial will follow at Zillah Cemetery. A dinner will follow the burial at the Zillah Civic Center (119 1st Ave, Zillah, WA). We love you Chez and miss you immensely. You were the light of our lives, sometimes a thorn in our sides but always loved unconditionally. You always loved as hard as you fought; thats what made you Chez. You will never be forgotten and we will always keep loving you. Shine down on us Star and come visit us in our dreams.
