Cindy Laurvick

SELAH - Goldie N Laurvick (Cindy), 61, passed away on May 23rd with her family by her side. Cindy was born to Charles and Dorothy (Phillips) Taylor on October 30, 1947. Cindy was a lifelong Selah resident who married the love of her life, Darwin Laurvick on June 20, 1964. Cindy owned and operated Sunshine Daycare with her sister Pam. She helped raise and nurture many children as their 2nd mom. After selling the daycare, Cindy worked for George Joseph Warehouse as a fruit packer. Cindy and Pam then started a house cleaning business that was successful for many years. In the late 90's, Cindy became a custodian for the Yakima Police Department. For the past 5 years, she has been retired. Cindy was devoted to all her family and friends. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren dance and play sports. She loved to watch them grow! They were her gift from God. Cindy's hobbies included going to yard sales, thrift store shopping, reading Sunday newspaper ads, movies, spiritual reading, boating, yard work, hair salon visits, making Cindy burgers, entertaining and watching her grandkids play. There are no words on how proud Cindy was of her son, Troy. She loved and supported all of his ideas and dreams. Cindy is survived by Darwin Laurvick her husband of 45 years; son - Troy (Danielle) Laurvick; grandchildren - Emma and Courtland Laurvick; father Charles (Red) Taylor; brother - Stan (Sharma) Taylor; sisters - Sonja (Leon) Glover and Pam (Wayne) Glover; and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Cindy was preceded in death by her wonderful son, Rusty and her beloved mother Dorothy Taylor. Cindy will be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be offered on Thursday and Friday from 3 PM to 7 PM at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, burial will follow at the Wenas Cemetery. A Potluck "celebration of life" reception will be held following the services at Pomona Gun Club, 441 Pomona Rd, Yakima, WA 98901.
