Darlene Mildred STROUD Obituary (2025)

Darlene Stroud, aged 85, passed away on March 24, 2025, in Yakima, Washington. Born on May 16, 1939, Darlene was known for her generous and kindhearted nature, a loving wife and mother deeply devoted to her family and friends. Darlene began her career at Evans Nursery, sparking a lifelong passion for plants. She later worked at the Courthouse and retired as the head cook at Lewis & Clark, where she was cherished by all who knew her. Her love for the holidays was evident in her exceptional baking, and her yard was a testament to her green thumb, with beautifully blooming flowers each season. Darlene also cherished game nights, making them a mandatory enjoyment for anyone visiting her home. She is survived by her loving husband, Vern Stroud, and her six children: Don, Lorrelle, Steve, Kristi, Kari, and Audie. A celebration of life service will be held on April 12, 2025, at the Church of Christ on 72nd & Summitview, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and legacy. Darlene will be laid to rest at West Hills Memorial Park.
