Dianna Dee Covey

Dianna Dee "Hanses" Covey 73, of Yakima, Washington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on January 6, 2025. Born on December 26, 1951, to Herb and Millie Hanses in Yakima, she was preceded in death by her beloved parents, who she always held close to her heart.
DeDe is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ed Covey; her children, Billy Covey and Holly Covey-Thomas; her sisters, Elaine (Ted) Cox and Colleen Martin; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Her greatest joys in life included tending to her beautiful garden, baking delicious treats for family gatherings, and spending time with her adored dogs and grand dogs , who were her constant companions. Above all, DeDe cherished her family, and being with them brought her immense happiness.
DeDe's selflessness and nurturing spirit touched everyone she met. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she influenced through her kindness, her faith, and her unwavering dedication to those she loved.
A celebration of DeDe's life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Shaw & Son's Funeral Home in Yakima, Washington. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories.
DeDe will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her love and light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
