Geraldine Mae Carlton

Geraldine Mae Carlton, 99, died July 14, 2016 in Yakima, WA at Cottage in the Meadow. She was born on September 27, 1916 to Jerod and Fannie Johnson in Holton, KS.
Geraldine graduated from Solider Kansas High School in 1935, and that same year moved to Yakima, WA. In 1940 she met and married Herman Carlton; together they owned fruit farms in Selah, WA where they also lived until moving in 2004 to a retirement home in Yakima, WA. Geraldine worked for 30 years packing and sorting fruit in Selah and Yakima, WA. After she and Herman retired they joined Thousand Trails and spent many winters in California and Arizona and the summers in the Northwest.
Geraldine enjoyed her grandchildren, camping, knitting, playing cards, gardening and her two cats.
Survivors include two sons, Ron (Brenda) Carlton and Don (Judy) Carlton, a daughter, Joyce (Jim) Corey, and her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mervin Johnson and grandson Mike.
