Yakima, Washington
Jacqueline Joy Randall Parke passed away on August 20, 2023, in Yakima, Washington. As she often would say, she "slipped the surly bonds of earth" to "touch the face of God." Born to Laurence and Marguerite Cornelius Randall on August 30, 1944, in Bellingham, Washington, Jackie graduated Mount Vernon High School in 1961. She was married to Dale Parke for 38 years.
She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend to all. She was a long time Yakima resident and small business owner, alongside her husband, Dale, of Yakima Shade and Awning, with the fun radio jingle of "come on down and see the Shady Lady and the Blind Man." She was an active member of her community, participating in Daughter of the Pioneers Yakima Chapter, Nature Artist Garden Club, Womens Century Club, and enjoyed events at the Yakima Museum. She spent many a day cultivating and sitting in her garden. She was a passionate reader and learner. She was also a very adventurous soul and there were many "short cuts" to the next destination. She loved numerous puppies and kitties and would always bring home a stray.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother, sister, and husband. She is survived by a sister, her children, many grandchildren, and even a few great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 2:00pm, at Yakima Seventh-Day Adventist Church (507 N. 35th Avenue, Yakima).
We will miss her greatly.
Happy Trails!
