LeRoy Francis Boob Obituary (2023)

LeRoy Boob was born on January 7, 1941, to Alfred Harlan Boob and Leona M. Boob, in Spalding, Nebraska. He was delivered by his grandmother, Georgia Boob. He moved to Washington in 1954 and graduated from Wapato High School in 1959. He joined the Army in November 1959, and served in Korea as a heavy equipment operator. He conducted classes teaching the local young men to operate paving rollers. LeRoy and Alice Mary Trusley married on June 11, 1966, in the St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, in Wapato, Washington. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this year. Their son, Alfred Harlan Boob II, was born on March 10, 1969, in Snoqualmie, Washington, and son, Adam Lee Boob, was born on December 15, 1971, in Toppenish, Washington. LeRoy worked in the orchards and seasonally at the U & I Sugar factory, in Toppenish, Washington. After studying welding at Perry Tech in Yakima, he worked at Pacific Car and Foundry in Renton, Washington. LeRoy worked for the Phil Olson Fruit Ranch in the Lombard Loop area. He also worked for Trusley Well Drilling with his father-in-law, Clarence E. Trusley. He joined The Yakima County Public Works, as a spray operator, mechanic and retired as a Shop Foreman in 2006. His supervisor and friend was Ed Hall. Upon his retirement he became a snowbird living between Yakima and Phoenix, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Lavern Boob, and grandmother, Georgia Boob, his parents, two brothers, Eugene Alfred Boob, and Michael Boob, mother-in-law, Nettie A. Trusley, father-in-law, Clarence E. Trusley, sister-in-law, Netta Klingele, brothers-in-law, Johnny Bronkhorst, Richard Klingele, Clint Gooden, Michael McGuire, and Vernon Graham, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. He is survived by his wife, Alice Boob, and his sons, Alfred Boob (Shantay), and Adam Boob (Wendi), sister, Karen Johns, brother, Gregg Bobb, sister-in-law, Delora Boob, nephew, Mike Boob (Sherry), sisters-in-law, Marian Weisner (Marc), Clara McGuire, Linda Rae Graham, brothers-in-law, Monty Trusley (Julie), and Marvin Trusley (Helen), grandchildren, Jason High (Tiffany), Ryon Boob (Carlee), Ashtin Weatherly (Isaiah), LaCosta Bossard, MaKinzi Bossard, Alex Boob, Alton Boob, DaKota Neufang, Dylan Neufang, great-grandchildren, Zachary High, Dominic Jacobson, Damion Jacobson, Carolyn Bossard, David Johns (Sheila), Rachael Key (Pete) and their son Alexander, Robert Bobb, Stephanie Johns and her children Matthew and Wendy and many other nieces and nephews. He was loved by all his relatives and friends, and he will be missed. A Viewing will be held at Shaw & Sons Funeral Home (201 N 2nd St., Yakima, WA) on Friday, September 29, 2023, from 3:00-7:00pm. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 10:00am, at West Hills Memorial Park (11800 Douglas Rd, Yakima, WA).
