Madalynn Cornwall

Madalynn (Lynn) Marie Cornwall, 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at her home in Yakima, Washington. Madalynn was born in Yakima on October 9, 1922 to her parents C. George and Eppon L. Walters. Madalynn was raised and educated in Yakima and graduated from Yakima High School in 1940. As a child she enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Chinook Pass where she spent countless hours riding her horse Pet. She married Kenneth L. Cornwall on October 3, 1947 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple.

In her adult life, Madalynn enjoyed long car rides, vacationing in Seaside, OR with her daughter Julia, visiting her granddaughters in Seattle, watching her soap operas, reading the newspaper and Consumer Reports. She also took pleasure in playing the piano and her dogs. Throughout her entire life Madalynns sole focus was her family and their love and happiness.

Madalynn is survived by her loving daughter Julia Ann Wheat and son-in-law, Terry P. Wheat, both of Yakima. She is also survived by her two granddaughters, Chelle Lorraine Wheat and Jennifer Lynn Wheat of Seattle. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Kenneth L. Cornwall, in June 1995.

At Madalynns request a small, private graveside service will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2009.

The family would like to thank Nadia Alvizo and Marla Flower for the care they provided in Madalynns last year of life. In addition, Madalynn loved and considered all of the Latifs as family, and the Wheat family would like to sincerely thank them for their love and support at this time.
