Michael Richard Temple Obituary (2024)

Michael "Mike" Richard Temple, 76, of Selah, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Born November 3, 1947, to Del and Betty Temple of Selah. He graduated from Selah High School in 1966, and earned his AA, with a Civil Engineering Degree in 1992, even making the Dean's list. In 2003, he designed and built his home with his wife, Debra. Mike worked maintenance for Chinook Business Park, Triumph Treatment Center, and Living Care Retirement; for Gary & Mary Lukehart, and Running Springs Ranch; and his own MRT Construction, and D&M Cleaning & Maintenance, which he and his wife ran together. He did construction jobs mostly by word of mouth and could fix anything. He was an amazing guitarist and could play hundreds of songs, even writing a few. He and his son, Tim, played in the popular local band "Prowler" in the 90's, and recently did an acoustic gig together. He would play for his terminal friends on weekly visits, and eventually play at their funeral. He was very compassionate. Mike dearly loved his grandchildren. The best memories being hide-n-seek. He made each one feel they were his favorite. Mike is survived by his beautiful wife, Debra, his children, Tim (Melinda) Temple, Tammy (John) Wilkinson, Teresa Calhoun, Mike Jr. (Tina) Temple, and stepdaughter, Michele Walker; 17 grand and 25 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Cheryl (Gordie) Dale, Su (Jack) Bixler, and Pat (Pam) Temple; and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by both his parents. A Memorial Service will be held on June 1, 2024, from 1-5pm at Running Springs Events (271 Running Springs Lane, Naches, WA 98937). Food will be provided.
