Rodney 'We'all'it' Totus Obituary (1962

Rodney Totus "Weallit" was called home by our Creator April 8, 2022. He was born November 28, 1962, the son of the late Raymond and Helen Totus. Born in Toppenish WA and raised in Status WA, he attended Granger High School, and was a wrestler, boxer, football and baseball player. He was a hunter, and enjoyed being with his brothers and nephews while hunting. He enjoyed bead-working and working on fancy dance bustles for himself and family members. He traveled to many pow-wows in his lifetime. He was raised as a fancy dancer, he was known as one of the best fancy dancer in his lifetime, especially the "Russian kick" where he stayed down and hopped through the whole song. He sang with his Totus Brothers and they were known as "Indian Nation." He was a mentor to his nephews, nieces, and grandchildren of pow-wow singing and Washut religion. Everyone who knew Rodney would say he was a friendly, always smiling, and happy guy. He loved everyone. He is survived by his brother's: Norman Totus, Frank Totus (Angie), Wilson Totus (Terry), Sugar Ray Totus, John Totus, Verlon Gould (Sherice) and Sonny Frank Eaglespeaker (Norma). His two sister's Sharon Totus-Smith and Irma Totus. Aunt Iola Totus. His nephews, Gary Smith, Raymond Smith, Damian Totus, William "Smurf" Totus, Manny Totus and Leon Totus. His niece Mary Lee Totus and numerous grandchildren. All of his pow-wow families throughout Indian Country. He was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Helen Totus, brother Steve Morrison, Uncle Lee Totus, Uncle Wilkins Beavert, Elmer Tanawash. Grandmother Mary John-Beavert, Grandpa Harrison John and brother Joseph Totus. Wa-shut services will be held at the family home on Sunday, April 10th, 2022 at 7:00pm. Dressing is on Monday April 11th, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Shaw & Sons Funeral Home, Yakima WA then will be brought to Satus Longhouse for viewing and overnight services, midnight meal. Sunrise Burial at Beavert Cemetery will be on Friday April 8th, 2022.
