Sharon M. Newborn

Sharon Maxine Newborn, 71, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Arcadia Medical Resort of Parkside in Union Gap, Washington.

Sharon was born March 22, 1951, in Yakima, Washington, to Pearlene Rowe and James Newborn. She attended Adams Elementary School, Washington Middle School, and A.C. Davis High School, all in Yakima, Washington. While in high school, Sharon was a member of the Aeolians Choir. Upon high school graduation in 1969, she attended Yakima Business College, followed by 47 years of working for various agencies within Washington State Department of Social and Health Services. She retired from Yakima Valley School in 2017, as a human resource officer.

Sharon enjoyed watching and rooting for her favorite football team, the Seattle Seahawks, and loved listening to the iconic Stevie Wonder.

Sharon is survived by her sisters, Helen Burns, and Janice Allen, of Yakima, Washington, and Karen Newborn of Auburn, Washington, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other close family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

A Viewing will be held on October 11, 2022, from 3:00-6:00pm at Shaw & Sons Funeral Home (201 N. 2nd St., Yakima, WA 98901). A Graveside Service will be held on October 12, 2022 at 1:00pm at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
