Donna Mowery

Donna was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina. She graduated from North Johnston High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Campbell University. In the fall of 2012, she made the Yakima Valley her home. After spending 17 years as a stay-at-home and homeschooling mom, Donna began her career in the funeral service profession in 2013 as an office assistant at Brookside Funeral Home in Moxee, Washington. Although she stepped away from the industry briefly, she returned with renewed purpose and, in 2018, earned her Washington State Funeral Director’s License after completing her internship and successfully passing the state examination. Donna returned to Brookside Funeral Home in June of 2019, where helping families through their time of loss is both a profession and a calling. She is deeply committed to building meaningful relationships and views her work as a ministry of compassion, presence, and service. Her sweet southern manner and genuine care bring comfort to the families she serves. In addition to her role as a licensed Funeral Director, Donna is also a licensed Pre-Need Funeral Insurance Agent, allowing her to assist families with thoughtful and meaningful pre-planning. She has also earned certification as a Therapy Dog Handler for Beacon. Outside of work, Donna enjoys being the mom of three sons, a daughter-in-law, and “Nonna” to her grandson. In her free time, she loves dancing, hiking, camping, cooking, reading, and occasionally binge-watching a new favorite show.
