Jamin J. Mohler, CFSP

Jamin Mohler grew up in Ellensburg and has deep roots in Central Washington. He married his wife, Kara, in 2000, and together they have six children, and one granddaughter. The Mohler family lives just outside of Moxee. Jamin is a graduate of Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon, where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science. He holds the designation of Lifetime Certified Funeral Service Practitioner and is also certified in Critical Incident Stress Management. In addition, he is a licensed Pre-Need Insurance Agent and a Certified Therapy Dog Handler for Beacon. He is also a graduate of Leadership Yakima and Community Leadership in Wenatchee. Highly active in the Yakima, Ellensburg, and Wenatchee communities, Jamin has served extensively in leadership roles. He is a former President of the Washington State Funeral Directors Association and has served on the boards of Care Net Pregnancy Center of Kittitas County, Heartlinks Hospice & Palliative Care, the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce ~ Leadership Yakima, and SAFE Yakima Valley. He is currently the NFDA Representative for the Washington State Funeral Directors Association. He is also an invited speaker for the DUI Victim Impact Panels in both Kittitas and Yakima Counties, where he speaks to convicted impaired drivers about the real-life consequences of their decisions. He also presents to high school classes and in other educational and professional settings about the calling of funeral service and of his cherished profession. Jamin is a member of the Ellensburg Rodeo Gold Buckle Club and a former Sunrise Rotarian. Under his leadership, Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory was nominated by the community and selected by the WCCFA & WSFDA Convention Committee as the inaugural Washington State Funeral Home of the Year in 2019. Leading the staff at Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory is a calling Jamin finds deeply fulfilling. Jamin believes strongly in the importance of locally owned, family-operated funeral homes, where compassionate care and community accountability take priority rather than decisions made by distant corporate offices or large funeral conglomerates. He is accessible and dedicated to serving families during some of life’s most difficult moments and building lasting, meaningful relationships. Often praised for his service, Jamin is quick to say he is simply doing what he was created to do, firmly believing that each person is given gifts meant to be used in service to others. Outside of work, Jamin enjoys travel, family activities, and investing in the lives of his wife, children, and granddaughter, Ivy. The Mohler family maintains many close friendships, and is passionate about adoption, which has been a tremendous blessing in their lives. They actively support organizations that champion the cause of adoption, embryo adoption support, and infant loss awareness.
